Sports weekend

I had a great sporting weekend. Friday night hubby got tickets from work for the Indianapolis Fever tourney game.

Not sure why it is sideways, but you can see that we were at the very top of the arena. The won this game and went on to win the championship on Sunday!!

On Sunday my dad and my father-in-law and I went to the Colts vs the Browns game.

It was a beautiful day and the big window and roof were open!

Go Browns!!

Prayers before the game!

HUGE flag

The Browns ended up losing by a few points but it was fun and I hope to do it again. Bengals also lost Sunday night so that made my day better!

For the love of Pellon

I am addicted to Pellon for interfacing and now they have some cool projects on their homepage. I am currently working on 2 of the sew-alongs. On is for a Halloween wall hanging and the other is a sampler of Cathedral windows (these are harder than they look but well worth it!) The Cathedral has some awesome prizes for those that complete the blocks and then for those that have the 9 blocks put together!
Here is some of what I have done.

I still need to sew around some of the applique but I love these blocks!

New fabrics!

So the other day when I got the mail it felt like Christmas! There was 3 packages of fabric in the mail! Some I have already shown you in my previous post about Quiltcon, but I wanted to share the others!

The first is from Hot Digity Dog. They offer all sorts of kool animal print item. My aunt wants a purse with Beagles on it and this is the only place I could find that had it. I ordered it on mocha fabric and the accent fabric is red with dog bones! It is gonna be cute!!

The other fabric is for a purse I want to make for myself. I have been looking for some black and red fabric that I like but nothing was just right. Then i found this at The Fat Quarter Shop and just had to have it! I am going to use it for a new bag pattern from the awesome Sarah Lawson over at SewSweetness. The purse is going o be a chevron bag and you can see it here. I can't wait to start cutting squares!

Sew Sweetness
Check out this sew a long! Sarah has done it again in her greatness. We are a few weeks into it but there is always time to join in.

Here is my fabric and some Kona solids to go along with it.

This is my inspiration!

It will look great hanging on the wall above my couch!

I am making one block with the grey as the background with the color accents and then another of the same block with a color as the background with grey accents. A couple of blocks will have 3 represented to make 24 blocks!

This was the first block

Then another.....

And another....

I think you get the picture!!!
The best part is that it is paper pierced and I love doing that!!!
Join in the fun. There is even a Flikr group to see what everyone else is doing!

So I found this challenge over here.
Here is what I made with some fun fabric I found. Final measurement is 6.25 inches square. This will be my new mug rug at school!
